Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, has expanded his allegations against Farouk Ahmed, the CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
Dangote accused Ahmed of living beyond his legitimate public service means, detailing on the alleged multi-million-dollar expenditures on the foreign education of his children.
The public feud began when Dangote, accused the NMDPRA leadership of economic sabotage. He alleges that the regulator is colluding with international traders by continuing to issue import licenses for petroleum products, thereby frustrating the efforts of domestic refining operations.
Dawn Herald reported on Monday, Dangote alleged that Farouk Ahmed spent approximately N7.2 billion on the six-year secondary education of four children in Swiss schools. Dangote revealed names of the children and their respective schools as follows; Faisal Farouk at Montreux School, Farouk Jr. at Aiglon College, Ashraf Farouk at Institute Le Rosey, and Farhana Farouk at La Garenne International School. He stated that each of the four children attended their schools for six years.
He explained that the annual costs per child for secondary education, including tuition, air tickets, and upkeep, totaled $200,000, amounting to $800,000 yearly for all four. Over six years, this brought the total living expenses per child to $1,200,000, or $4,800,000 for the group.

He also claimed an additional $2 million was spent on their tertiary education, including a $210,000 Harvard MBA in 2025 for one of his sons.
The billionaire demanded that the official, whose home state is Sokoto, be investigated by anti-corruption agencies like the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB);
Nigerians deserve to know the source(s) of these sums of money paid by a public officer
Dangote insists his demands are not personal but a necessary step for accountability and regulatory integrity. He stressed that he does not want Ahmed removed but investigated to ensure he has not compromised his position to the detriment of Nigerians.
