The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended ten suspects after a series of operations aimed at curbing armed robbery, drug trafficking, and theft across the state. The Command, in a statement released on Monday, confirmed the recovery of over 7,000 illicit items and several stolen assets during the raids.

‎The Police recovered 7,028 units of illicit substances, including rubber solutions, Indian hemp, and other intoxicating chemicals, during separate raids.

‎Among the ten individuals detained is Shu’aibu Musa, a wanted armed robbery suspect previously on the police watchlist, who was caught in connection with a camel theft.

‎The Police successfully recovered a stolen Jincheng motorcycle in Hadejia and two rustled cows in Malam-Madori, both of which were abandoned by suspects who fled into the nearby brush.

‎The police while speaking to the media, emphasized that the operation was successful due to the cooperation from residents.

‎The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, stated that the command remains committed in prosecuting drug traffickers in the state.

Residents expressed concern over the escape of some non-states actors during the cattle recovery operations, urging the police to increase patrols to prevent future retaliatory attacks.

‎The ten suspects are currently undergoing interrogation. While the suspected phone thieves in Sundimina, have already been arraigned in court, others have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for investigation into their involvement in wider criminal networks.
