President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the nation’s Service Chiefs at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting began on Monday evening at approximately 6:01 p.m. It marks President Tinubu’s first engagement with the military high command since he swore in General Christopher Musa (retd.) as the new Minister of Defence on December 4.

‎The meeting occurs while over 150 students and staff abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Niger State in November remains unaccounted for, demanding urgent attention.

‎The meeting also follows the Nigerian Senate’s approval of President Tinubu’s request to deploy troops to the Benin Republic to respond to instability and an attempted coup in the neighboring nation.

‎The meeting is aimed at reviewing strategies following the President’s November 26 declaration of a nationwide security emergency, which included ordering additional recruitment for the police and army and the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP guard duties.

Stakeholders call for the deployment of heavy security presence at terrorist hotspot zones and the enforcement of security architecture capable of flushing out non states actors across the country and to secure the release of all captives without casualty.

Details later….
