The Police Commands in Delta and Sokoto States have announced that enforcement of tinted vehicle glass regulations will begin Thursday, October 2, 2025.

The Delta State Police Command will also target unauthorized sirens, strobe lights, and tampered license plates during the clampdown. Motorists are advised to ensure their vehicles comply with legal standards to avoid penalties.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe emphasized that the operation will be conducted professionally and with respect for citizens’ rights.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Olufemi Abaniwonda, instructed Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to oversee the operations strictly, warning that offenders would face legal actions. While in Sokoto, the Police Command stressed that enforcement follows a grace period allowing motorists to apply for Tinted Glass Permits as mandated by the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act of 2004.

‎Police spokesperson DSP Ahmad Rufai urged residents to apply online via possap.gov.ng, cautioning against using unauthorized agents and stressing that the biometric verification process at the State Intelligence Department is free.

‎Police authorities continue to ask the public to report violations through official hotlines.
