Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani pledged his administration will avoid loans for funding, promising not to saddle the state with debt or neglect ongoing projects. He made this statement at the pioneering launch of a 16.5-kilometre road in the Lere Local Government Area, of Kaduna State.

The new road will connect Kayarda Tasha, Kayarda Gari, Unguwan Sarki, Maskawa, and Dan Alhaji towns, to be carried out by a well-established construction company.

Governor Sani stressed that his government has revived numerous previously stalled undertakings in the area. Among them, Rewa Bridge in Gure town and Marjeri Bridge have been completed, with Tudai Bridge expected to be finished shortly. He also revealed plans to restore electricity supply to Yarkasuwa, Kayarda, Ramin Kura, and Mariri communities.

Kaduna’s Commissioner for Environment, Abubakar Buba lauded the governor as “a man of his word”, expressing gratitude for appointments of Lere indigenes to influential positions and the delivery of tangible benefits to residents. Buba acknowledged prominent figures such as House Majority Leader Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, House of Representatives member Hon. Ahmed Munir, and Council Chairman Hon. Jafaaru for their notable service under Governor Sani’s administration.

Buba also stressed the trust vested by the governor in community leaders, which resulted in an open-door approach allowing officials to address local needs effectively.

House Majority Leader Munira Suleiman Tanimu recalled the community’s demand for the road during the 2023 campaign and voiced confidence that such projects will help secure electoral success for the APC in 2027.
