The Saudi-based Albidairi Foundation on Saturday, in Langel area of Tofa Local Government of Kano state, has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art residential and educational facility, to address the high rate of out-of-school children in the state. The facility consists of a 700-capacity orphanage and a 5,000-capacity mosque.
The Albidairi Orphanage Home provides a platform for vulnerable children, to be equipped with traditional western education alongside Islamic Quranic studies, to prepare them for both religious and modern workforce.
The Director of the facility, Sheikh Adam Yushau Adam, stated that the center provides 24/7 solar power and professional nannies assigned to each 14-child dormitory. He appreciates the sponsor for his kind gesture;

Recent 2025 statistics from UNICEF and the National Mass Education Programme Initiative (NMPI) estimate that nearly 1.89 million children in Kano are currently not in formal classrooms. The Albidairi Foundation, though based in Saudi Arabia, is registered in Nigeria and founded by philanthropist
Abu-Abdurrahman Al-Bidairi, who funded the project without physically visiting Nigeria.
The Kano State government, through the Commissioner of Education, Ali Haruna Makoda, welcomed the development as an ease on the burden of the state government;

The Ministry for Women Affairs, after the Commissioning, announced a new accreditation program to ensure all private orphanages in the state meet the required security and educational standards set by the Albidairi facility.
