Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has declared she is ready to present evidence of sexual harassment in court after being served with a N200 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Senate President God’swill Akpabio.

The lawsuit, confirmed by the Kogi Central Senator on Friday, revolves around Akpoti-Uduaghan’s public allegations that the Senate President sexually harassed her, claims that Akpabio consistently denies, stating it has  to a great extent injured his reputation.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she views the defamation suit not as an attack, but as the only platform she has been granted to argue her case, which she claims was previously denied to her by the Senate’s internal mechanism.

The court case now provides the platform… Alas, I now have a chance to prove how I was sexually harassed and how my refusal to give into his demands unleashed a series of unprovoked and unprecedented attacks on my person. See you in court, Godswill Akpabio – Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

She stated that the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges had refused to hear her original allegations, due to a separate, existing defamation case against her filed by Akpabio’s wife.

‎The Court documents presented show that Akpabio is seeking extensive damages, nationwide broadcast apologies, and an order to compel the removal of all online materials containing the allegations, which he argues painted him as a predator.

‎The case advanced after a court order issued on November 6, 2025, permitted the claimant to serve court processes on Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan via substituted means, specifically through the Clerk of the National Assembly.
