The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), has officially opened applications for the Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme (RHAMP).
The program, launched in collaboration with Heifer Nigeria, aims to boost the food security of the country by offering farmers and entrepreneurs access to affordable, technologically-supported tractors and farming implements under flexible lease and repayment plans.
Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, relies heavily on agriculture, but the sector remains largely dominated by manual and subsistence farming methods. The lack of modern equipment is a major bottleneck to increasing yields and achieving national food security.
RHAMP is aimed at pushing its policies toward industrializing Nigerian agriculture. The programme specifically targets women, youth agripreneurs (aged 18-35), and mechanisation companies to create a new generation of service providers.
The program provides affordable financing, a competitive 15 per cent interest rate, and technical support including Internet of Things (IoT) technology for digital tracking and a three-year servicing plan. President Tinubu previously unveiled the first phase of the deployment in June, which included over 2,000 tractors and thousands of implements.
The call for applications was confirmed by presidential aide Dada Olusegun, marking the transition of the programme from an unveiling ceremony to full implementation. Applicants are to be given technical support and modern management tools.
The programme offers flexible repayment options, as well as benefits including technical support and digital tracking via IoT technology.
President Tinubu previously stressed the strategic importance of the programme in modernizing the nation’s farming techniques.
Interested applicants must complete the free online application before the deadline of November 10, 2025. Following the application period, the government will select beneficiaries and commence the distribution of equipment.
