Vice President Kashim Ibrahim Shettima has assured Nigerians that the country is on the verge of renewed economic growth, driven by investments in the renewable energy sector announced at the Nigeria Renewable Energy Innovation Forum (NREIF) held Tuesday in Abuja.

‎The forum, organized by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), aims to place Nigeria as Africa’s leading hub for renewable energy manufacturing.
‎Shettima outlined Nigeria’s agenda to expand energy access, noting that over 23 billion Naira is needed to connect millions still living without electricity.

‎Nigeria plans to build a power system capable of 277 gigawatts of installed capacity by 2060. The $400 million in new investments announced are expected to create more than 1,500 direct jobs across various states.

‎The forum encouraged a shift from promises to real impact, factories producing renewable energy components, electrified rural schools, and thriving communities powered by clean energy.
