The Nigeria Customs Service launched the B’Odogwu platform on June 25, 2025, integrating CBN, FIRS, banks, and other agencies to streamline trade processes, reduce delays, and boost transparency in Lagos, Nigeria.
The digital trade facilitation system connects key government agencies, including the Federal Ministry of Finance, SON, NAICOM, NAFDAC, and NESREA, enabling real-time data sharing and faster cargo clearance. It aims to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and align with global trade standards.
Comptroller Frank Onyeka of Tin-Can Island Command reported that over 90 percent of initial integration challenges have been resolved, significantly reducing demurrage costs for importers. The platform enhances compliance through automation and inter-agency collaboration.
Assistant Comptroller Oyindamola Oladapo at PTML Command noted that most commercial banks are now connected to B’Odogwu, with efforts ongoing to include all banks. This unified platform supports seamless operations across Nigeria’s trade value chain.
The initiative reflects Nigeria’s push for a digitized, investor-friendly trade environment, fostering efficiency and transparency. Stakeholders expect the platform to drive economic growth by simplifying international trade processes and reducing operational hurdles.
