NAHCON Airlifts 14,000+ Nigerian Pilgrims for 2025 Hajj

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has airlifted over 14,000 pilgrims from Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj, with flights departing Jeddah for Sokoto and Abuja, ensuring a smooth spiritual journey.

On Saturday, June 15, 2025, NAHCON reported significant progress in its airlift operations, as detailed by the Command and Control Centre in Makkah. A Flynas flight, XY9082, departed Jeddah for Sokoto at 07:51hrs local time, carrying 422 Sokoto pilgrims and four officials. This flight increased the total number of pilgrims airlifted to 13,589 across 32 flights, according to a post on NAHCON’s official X handle.

Shortly after, another Flynas flight, XY9022, left Jeddah for Abuja at 10:33hrs local time, transporting 425 Federal Capital Territory pilgrims and four officials. With this departure, NAHCON achieved a total of 14,014 pilgrims airlifted across 33 flights. These operations reflect the commission’s commitment to efficient and timely transportation for Nigerian pilgrims.

NAHCON’s Command and Control Centre in Makkah continues to oversee the airlift process, coordinating with airlines and authorities to ensure safe and seamless travel. The commission emphasized its dedication, stating, “Our commitment to a smooth Hajj airlift remains unwavering,” in an update shared on its social media platform.

The ongoing efforts highlight NAHCON’s focus on facilitating the spiritual journey of Nigerian pilgrims. By maintaining close monitoring and coordination, the commission aims to ensure all intending pilgrims reach the Holy Land safely and on schedule for the 2025 Hajj.
