The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned patrol officers nationwide to avoid bribery and unethical practices, with sanctions promised for violators, Assistant Corps Marshal Yakubu Mohammad announced Friday in Bauchi.

Mohammad, the new Zonal Commanding Officer for Bauchi, Yobe, and Borno states, emphasized that both bribe givers and takers will face prosecution under FRSC laws. He urged road users to cooperate with officers, prioritize safety, and comply with traffic rules, especially during the rainy season. Motorists were advised to avoid overloading, speeding, dangerous driving, and using unsafe vehicles.

The FRSC, under Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, plans to implement a policy of consultation, rewards, and punishments to ensure compliance. Mohammad assured prompt rescue operations and collaboration with security agencies to foster a safe road culture. He encouraged drivers to use the FRSC App to regulate speed and stay informed, while also checking their eyesight and blood pressure regularly.

Mohammad, previously Assistant Corps Marshal for Administration in Abuja, replaced Assistant Corps Marshal Jeol Dagwa, who was redeployed to FRSC National Headquarters. The Corps remains committed to public education, victim rescue, and strict enforcement of traffic regulations across Bauchi, Yobe, and Borno.
