The Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday has foiled a child trafficking and kidnapping plot in Kaduna State, rescuing 76 minors.
The special team from Kasuwan Magani Division of Police in Kaduna, after intelligence gathering, ambushed the suspects while they were trying to move the 76 minors, both males and females to their targeted location for domestic servitude.
After a brief engagement, the police repelled the attackers and secured the safety of 76 children and young adults, aged between 7 and 20.

The police have confirmed the arrest of three suspects, Jonathan John (25), Oliver Magaji (27), and Bitrus Sawaba (23).
Dawn Herald gathered that the children were being transported under the guise of domestic work placement, which is a common tactic used by most human trafficking syndicates
In a related event, Nasarawa State, police has successfully reunited four children with their families this week after they were snatched on New Year’s Eve in Karu.
The rescue occurred after police intercepted the suspects while they were attempting to move the victims through a known bandit hotspot area at 8:00 pm.
While three suspects are in custody, the police are currently hunting for the financiers of the operation.
The suspects are scheduled for arraignment at the State High Court once the network of collaborators has been mapped.
