NDLEA has detained the entire crew of the merchant vessel MV Aruna Hulya after the discovery of 31.5 kilograms of cocaine in Lagos State.
The ship sailed under the flag of Marshall Islands, and was intercepted at the Apapa Port on January 2. NDLEA personnel found the illicit cargo hidden in three of the vessels. The Master of the ship, Sharma Shashi Bhushan, and 21 other Indian nationals are currently being interrogated.

This seizure is the second major maritime bust in Lagos within a month, following the arrest of the MV San Antonio in December.
The NDLEA also intercepted designer drugs like ketamine and ecstasy hidden inside coffee mix sachets and book parcels, destined for the UK and Zambia.
The agency recently arrested 65-year-old Fatima Ilori, a legendary distributor in Ibadan, seizing over 238kg of cannabis (skunk).
