World-renowned British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua, on Monday, December 29, was involved in a fatal road accident along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State.
Joshua, has been in Nigeria for holidays after his victory over Jake Paul in a heavyweight clash on December 19, in Miami. He had recently shared videos on social media of himself playing table tennis in Nigeria just hours before the crash.
The accident occurred around 11:00 AM close to Danco Filling Station. Investigation reveals that a Lexus SUV, with the registration number KRD 850 HN, carrying the two-time heavyweight champion collided with a stationary truck, leading to the death of two occupants of the vehicle, who tragically died at the scene, while Joshua, seated at the back of the car, is reported to have sustained minor injuries.

Eyewitnesses and rescue workers, including officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), arrived shortly after the collision.
The Ogun State Police and FRSC are currently investigating the cause of the crash, especially looking into why the truck was stationary on the expressway.
