The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has postponed the inauguration and official unveiling of its National Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, which was initially scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, has now been shifted to Monday, October 26, 2026, due to an urgent overseas engagement involving the presidential candidate of the party.
The NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, in a press release issued on Monday, apologised to party members for the short-notice postponement.
“The shift is occasioned by the very tight schedule of our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, who has a very important engagement overseas…We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this shift and urge everyone not to lose focus on the goal of ensuring victory for our presidential candidate and all NDC candidates in the forthcoming presidential and general elections.”
The party urged its supporters nationwide to remain calm and focused on its electoral objectives despite the sudden schedule adjustment.
After the inauguration, the campaign council will officially roll out the nationwide strategy of the party for the 2027 election cycle.
