Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has promised an upward review of the monthly allowances for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state.

The governor made the pledge on Monday during a visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Fanisau, Dutse.

Addressing the 2026 Batch C Stream corps members at their passing-out ceremony, Namadi announced a N10,000 transport allowance for every individual to facilitate movement to their places of primary assignment. He stated that the financial interventions are necessary to encourage the youths to give their best to the state.

The state government also promised to upgrade the infrastructure at the orientation camp. Namadi assured camp officials that his administration will procure a high-capacity generator to ensure steady power supply and construct a larger hall to accommodate the growing number of corps members.

“We will review up and increase NYSC corpers allowance posted to the state to encourage them to give their best…We have provided N10,000 transportation allowance to each of you to ease your movement to your places of primary assignment”, Governor Namadi.

The NYSC Jigawa State Coordinator, Muhammad Baba, commended the state government for its support and timely interventions.

Baba confirmed that the Batch C corps members have been adequately trained and found worthy in character and learning. He urged the youths to respect the cultural values of their host communities and contribute meaningfully to local development.
