The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced a nationwide integrity check of all Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in preparation for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, announced on Wednesday, December 17, that the board aims to accredit 1,039 centres, provided they meet the security and technical standards.
JAMB is also taking anti-fraud measures to prevent repackaged fraud, as registration for the 2026 UTME approaches, slated to run from January 31 to March 8, 2026.
In previous years, operators of delisted centres simply changed their business names or moved to new locations to re-apply. For 2026, JAMB has integrated its database with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to track individuals, not just business names.
JAMB has also banned the specific computer sets used in delisted centres. Even if these computers are sold to legitimate new centres, they will be rejected by the JAMB central system.
New and returning centres must implement a Star topology network and must use HIKVision CCTV systems with 16-32 channels connected to a UPS to ensure zero blind spots during exams.
Candidates are advised to start generating their profile codes now to avoid the last-minute server congestion.
