The representative for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent internal conflicts and factionalism hampering his effectiveness.
In a letter dated October 13 addressed to the PDP Chairman of Hanwa Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Abdullahi expressed frustration with the prolonged crisis within the party, which he says made it difficult to deliver on his mandate.
He explained that after wide consultations with stakeholders and political associates, resigning from the PDP was a difficult but necessary decision.
Abdullahi also holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and thanked the PDP for the opportunity to serve under its platform.
Previously, at least three other PDP members of the House of Representatives; Amos Gwamna Magaji (Zangon Kataf/Jaba), Jallo Hussaini Mohammed (Igabi), and Hussaini Abdulkarim Ahmed (Kaduna South), defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This latest exit follows the suspension and subsequent resignation of Sa’idu Adamu, the former state secretary of the PDP in Kaduna, raising serious concerns about the party’s internal stability.
