How to download NIN slip for free

The National Identity Management Commission has detailed the process for Nigerians to download their National Identification Number slips online at no cost through its official mobile application.

The commission via a video released on X demonstrated how NIN holders can generate the document via the NINAuth app, eliminating the need to visit enrolment centres.

To access the service, users are required to download the NINAuth application from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, open the application, tap “Do More with NINAuth,” and select the “NIN Slip” option.

Applicants must then complete a facial authentication process on their mobile devices to verify their identity before generating the digital document.

“Once verified, click on ‘Download NIN Slip’ to generate and save the official NIMC-issued NIN slip into your mobile phone. It is that simple, it is free, available, and a few taps away. Get yours today”, the commission.

NIMC explained that the process was designed to make obtaining the document easier and reduce physical crowd congestion at its offices nationwide.

The commission initially launched the NINAuth platform in October 2025 to enable citizens control access to their personal data across banking, telecoms, education, and government services, before adding free slip downloads in June 2026.

According to the commission, the downloaded slip holds full official recognition and can be presented at banks and government institutions where identity verification is required.
