The commander of the United Hunters Association in Giwa Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Kabiru Sani Musa Gangara, was killed during a rescue mission to free kidnapping victims near Danja in Katsina State on Saturday morning. Three suspected bandits were also neutralized in the fierce gun battle.

The operation took place around 7:00 a.m. in Yakawada Ward, close to Unguwar Gaga in Giwa Local Government Area. It was launched after reports that bandits had abducted people from Danja and were moving towards Kaduna State. The United Hunters Association, led by National Commander Usman Taju, quickly mobilized their men to intercept the kidnappers and secure the hostages.

During the gunfight, the team successfully rescued three women held captive by the bandits. However, Commander Gangara lost his life in the process, and several other operatives sustained gunshot wounds requiring immediate medical attention at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital.

Taju disclosed that among the bandits killed was Dogo Aminu, the leader of a notorious gang operating around Galadimawa and Dabar Garke in Giwa LGA.

The victims have been handed over to local authorities in Danja to facilitate reunification with their families. Meanwhile, the United Hunters Association vows to continue its efforts to combat banditry and ensure safety for communities in Kaduna and neighboring states.
