Honorable Abdulmumin Jibrin, member of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), revealed that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the opposition’s national leader, remains open to aligning with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This development emerged following recent meetings with President Bola Tinubu.

Jibrin, representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, shed light on the discussions regarding Kwankwaso’s potential political reorientation. Although certain APC figures in Kano express reservations about Kwankwaso’s possible integration, likely due to ambitions and rivalry within the party, the conversations are still unfolding with a view toward fostering political harmony.

If  you claim Kwankwaso is joining APC, even within Kano’s APC, there are numerous individuals who would oppose him, perhaps those aspiring to be governor or those not welcoming competition…I have consistently championed national unity from the start, striving to ensure that Kano and Nigeria enjoy political steadiness. The door for talks is always ajar, and everything remains conceivable

Throughout the dialogue, Jibrin has emphasized the importance of stability for both Kano and Nigeria at large, advocating for cooperative governance. The lawmaker described the process as intricate, acknowledging that some members within APC might resist Kwankwaso’s arrival, especially those with gubernatorial aspirations.
