President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced on Tuesday that Nigeria successfully achieved its revenue goal for 2025 by August. Speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, he emphasized the government’s strengthened financial position and the strides being made towards economic diversification and food security.

During a meeting with leaders of The Buhari Organisation (TBO), a political group formed from the former Congress for Progressive Change, Tinubu revealed that this year’s revenue target was met early thanks to strong non-oil sector performance. This financial accomplishment means the government can now fund its development plans without resorting to borrowing, providing much-needed fiscal stability.

Today, I can proudly say Nigeria is not borrowing. We have surpassed our revenue projections, achieving them as early as August. The economy has stabilized; no longer do you have to engage in risky currency trades. Simply export, import, and create employment for our people – President Tinubu

The President stated that the economy has transitioned to a more stable phase with the naira exchange rate improving from N1,900 to N1,450 per dollar. He noted that this shift allows businesses to operate more predictably without reliance on foreign exchange intermediaries, fostering an environment conducive to export, import, and job creation.

Central to Tinubu’s strategy is a nation-wide agricultural mechanization campaign launched recently under his Renewed Hope Agenda. This ambitious programme introduces thousands of modern tractors, bulldozers, and farming tools to transform traditional agriculture. His administration aims to boost productivity, create thousands of jobs, and ensure food sovereignty across all regions, by empowering rural communities with technology.

Fixing the economy and restoring hope remain our top priorities. This programme to mechanize agriculture is a vital step towards defeating poverty and hunger – President Tinubu

In addition, the government is committed to developing training centers, supporting young farmers, and enhancing cultivation year-round. Tinubu envisions Nigeria as a global agricultural power, capable of exporting quality produce worldwide while securing affordable food for its citizens.

Tanko Al-Makura, leader of the TBO delegation, expressed unwavering support,  dignity and respect given to their late leader, Buhari, and that they stand firmly with President Tinubu in his vision for national progress and the upcoming 2027 elections.

Nigeria’s goals toward economic stability and food security is certain, with financial targets exceeded and a comprehensive agricultural modernization underway. The president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration remains focused on sustaining progress, expanding opportunities, and preparing the nation for a promising future.
