Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, newly appointed general manager of Kano Pillars, vowed to restore the club’s glory and position it among Africa’s top football institutions.
Musa made the pledge during a meeting with club chairman Alhaji Ali Umar and board members in Kano, as announced in a statement by the club’s Media and Communications Directorate on Tuesday. He promised to collaborate with stakeholders to transform the club.
The former Leicester City and CSKA Moscow forward described Kano Pillars, a four-time Nigeria Professional Football League champion, as one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs, despite recent challenges. He emphasized strategic planning and collective effort to address these issues.
Musa highlighted his European experience and past tenure with the club, expressing confidence in contributing to its revival. “I will do everything possible to reposition the club and make it one of the finest globally,” he said, stressing unity and professionalism.
His appointment by Governor Abba Yusuf aims to revamp the state-owned club and align it with international standards. Musa’s leadership targets a new era of growth and excellence for Kano Pillars, the statement noted.
