Senator Jimoh confirms President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the $25 billion Nigeria–Morocco gas pipeline project yesterday at the African parliament in Casablanca, Morocco.

The senator explained that the project will create job opportunities, boost digital development, build the sustainable energy industry and a future for the African countries involved. The pipeline is said to traverse African countries including Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Morroco, Senegal, Mauritania, and Gambia, with Nigeria as the center of the gas supply chain.

The senator mentioned that the project is in the feasibility study and route planning phase, But the final investment was postponed to 2025. Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, is said to be working on legislative support for President Tinubu to eliminate complexities that may obstruct the successful implementation of the $25 Billion project. Senator Ibrahim urged Morocco to revise the nation’s visa policy, which will allow Nigerians to enter without visa restrictions as the new investments will generate financial opportunities for both countries.
