Authorities of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have reportedly decamped two female corps members undergoing their orientation course in Rivers State.
The female corps members were sent packing from the orientation camp after a viral video showed them wearing the official face caps backwards.
The incident occurred at the Rivers State NYSC orientation camp and quickly caught the attention of the State Director.
The corps members, tagged “baddie corpers” by Nigerians across social media platforms, were sanctioned immediately for violating the dress code, while creating online content in their uniforms.
The news of the decampment surfaced on X on Friday after a verified user, @dspkemo, made a post which has since ignited debate across the platform:
“Two content creators reportedly faced disciplinary action after making content while wearing their NYSC caps backward. The Rivers State NYSC Director reportedly came across the video, and the two corps members were decamped.”
Under the NYSC code of conduct, corps members are mandated to wear their official kits appropriately and remain discipline during all camp activities. While the NYSC management is yet to issue a press statement, the scheme has over time warned youths to uphold its regulations and conduct themselves properly throughout their service year.
