Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, have neutralised 44 suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists during a series of offensive joint operations across Borno State.
The military actions also left scores of fighters injured and dismantled their logistics networks.
The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North-East, Captain Mohammed Goni, confirmed the figures in a press statement on Thursday.
He stated that the terrorists were eliminated following intelligence-led ground, maritime, and air engagements in Kukawa Local Government Area and the Lake Chad axis.
“Troops of OPHK have sustained their offensive against terrorist elements through coordinated intelligence-led
operations across the theatre”.
According to report, 28 terrorists were neutralised in that encounter, while six others were forced to flee in disarray with several degrees of injury.
On October 28, the Maritime Component of the Naval Base Lake Chad deployed in Baga launched a separate offensive against terrorist targets. Preliminary military assessments from this engagement showed eight terrorists were neutralised and 10 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
In another clearance operation, military forces executed an air interdiction mission that disrupted an active improvised explosive device (IED) laying operation.
This strike neutralised eight operatives and successfully destroyed their vehicle, motorcycles, and explosive materials before they could be deployed.
These successes came after an operation on Monday, where troops neutralised 16 suspected ISWAP fighters in Tunbunma area of South Lake Chad.
The military urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies to help clear the remnants of the terrorist networks.
