As Nigeria celebrates Christmas on Thursday, December 25, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu calls for national unity, promising to safeguard the rights of all citizens to worship without fear.
In his Christmas goodwill message, the President described the season as a solemn time for reflection that transcends beyond festivities, urging Nigerians to embody the peace and grace symbolized by the birth of Jesus Christ.
No one, regardless of ethnicity or belief, should be made to suffer for professing and practicing his faith. President Tinubu used the occasion to address the escalating global debate regarding religious freedom in Nigeria. He stressed that his administration has been successful in fostering engagement with leaders of the two major faiths to prevent conflict and promote peaceful coexistence.
Alongside the festive message, the President appointed Speaker Tajudeen Abbas to chair APC Reconciliation Committee in Benue State to resolve internal crises ahead of the 2027 elections.
