The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced two Boko Haram supporters to life imprisonment and an additional 20 years in prison each for aiding the proscribed terrorist group.

Justice Salim Ibrahim handed down the verdict to Abba Mustapha and 41-year-old Bukar Ibrahim, both from Borno State, after they pleaded guilty to charges of providing logistics support and concealing vital information. The men were initially arrested and arraigned by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The judicial exercise is being coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) alongside the Complex Casework Group of the Attorney General’s office.

At least 34 defendants were listed for proceedings before Justice Ibrahim on Thursday, while hundreds of other suspects are currently facing prosecution before four other judges.

The Federal Government stated that the administration of justice remains a priority of the country in tackling crime.

This development follows the conviction of 386 terrorists earlier in April under the same mass trial framework.
