Delta State Police Command apprehended three alleged kidnappers who demanded N2 million ransom before shooting their victim. The incident occurred in Ogwashi-Uku, where police successfully rescued the man despite his injuries.

‎The suspects, Chukwuebuka Nka (25), Uche Okechukwu, and Somto Chukwuma, were detained after forcing their captive to pay a hefty ransom. They later learned that the victim’s bank account lacked sufficient funds, prompting them to shoot him in the leg.

‎Police spokesperson Bright Edafe explained that the arrests followed a distress call reporting a kidnapping at a residence in Ogwashi-Uku. Officers traced the kidnappers to a remote bush area, where they found and freed the wounded man.

‎Subsequent inquiries uncovered the locations of two suspects in Anambra State. Authorities recovered the victim’s white Toyota Venza alongside them. The suspects’ confessions guided police to a hideout in Agidiase village, leading to the capture of the third individual.

‎At the criminals’ base, law enforcement officials seized their operational vehicle and a network jammer. This equipment likely aided the culprits in evading detection during their unlawful activities.

‎The arrests mark victory against criminal gangs terrorizing the region. Authorities have pledged vigilance and urged residents to report suspicious behavior promptly.
