President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday was engaged in private discussions with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara at the State House in Abuja.
This meeting comes after Governor Fubara resumed office on September 19, following the lifting of the six-month state of emergency in Rivers State. The emergency, imposed in March, was revoked last week by President Tinubu after notable advancements toward peace and stability were achieved in the region.
As of filing this report, details regarding the meeting’s agenda have not been disclosed to the public.
The governor’s visit followed a series of separate talks the President held earlier with prominent leaders including AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and governor of Kwara State; Senator Hope Uzodimma, head of the Progressive Governors Forum and governor of Imo State; Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abass; Federal Inland Revenue Service Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji; and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, who also coordinates the economy.
