Spiritual leaders and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across Kano State gathered Thursday for prayers and sacrifices seeking success for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin’s governorship campaign.
The event took place at Gidan Baban Liya in Kurna, Kano municipal, organised by the Tinubu/Barau/Atah Movement, chaired by Mohammed Sabiu Nuhu. The assembly involved ulama, imams, women, and children reciting the Qur’an, coming together for a special supplication session and the ritual slaughter of a ram as a sign of devotion and hope for divine favor.
Describing their mission, the convener Hon. Seyi Olorunsola said the prayer gathering aimed to garner spiritual support for the president to secure a second term and for Senator Barau to emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election. He praised Tinubu’s achievements in improving infrastructure, reducing food costs, creating jobs, and bolstering security since taking office two years ago.
Olorunsola emphasized the strength of the APC’s gubernatorial ticket, with Barau Jibrin leading and Minister of State for Housing Abdullahi Yusuf Atah as running mate. He stated this pairing offers a strategic advantage, balancing political zones against the incumbent governor’s influence and bringing the party close to a smooth win in the state.

Saminu Khalid Abdullahi, the Sarkin Yaki Matasa, described the TBA Movement as a grassroots support network dedicated to mobilising voters behind the leadership of Tinubu, Barau, and Atah as the 2027 elections approach.
Supporters express confidence that this spiritual and political alliance will lead to electoral victory in the coming years.
