Police Officer Faces Trial Over Vandalism After Rescue Mission In Edo State

The Edo State Police Command confirmed that some policemen that smashed a vehicle after being rescued from an attack, are currently facing trial.

Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Moses Yamu, stated on the 20th of May that some police men who were attacked on their way to Lagos from Edo at Okhuimwun community, Benin Kingdom, in Ovia Northeast Local Government Area were rescued by the members of Intelligence Response Team (IRT). He stated, “A reinforcement team that was deployed in the scene rescued the IRT personnel and effected the arrests of some of the miscreants involved in the attack, but some police officers were captured in a video conducting themselves in an unprofessional manner, and smashed a vehicle parked in the location.”

He confirmed that their identities have been made known by the response team and they are going according to the police regulations.
