The New Nigerian Development Company (NNDC) the custodians of the funds realised in the sales of identified NNN properties to pay workers liabilities may have despised the approval for the release of the money. Almost two weeks after the approval was granted by the chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF), Governor Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, NNDC *is and not has* yet to yield to the approval. NNDC is owned by the 19 Northern States.
The already devastated NNN workers whose colleagues totalling about 111 have passed away in vain, while waiting for years to receive their entitlements, have begun to express grave concerns over the confusion they’ve been thrown into. They’ve waited since 2006 when the NNN was returned to the 19 Northern States by the Federal Government, going through excrutiating experiences before succeeding in arriving at the point of payment, *but now have the NNDC as yet,* (I don’t understand the hysteric part) a fresh adversary.
A lot of unconfirmed funny stories have allegedly characterised the sales as well as NNDC’s consequent foot dragging in releasing the money but some visibly worried insiders of the company, yesterday, sympathised with the complex situation of the NNN beneficiaries saying that everything possible would be done to ensure that the money is released before the week runs out. Some elders among the beneficiaries had, yesterday, visited the NNDC office along Ahmadu Bello Way in Kaduna, where they gathered that the company’s top shots had all travelled to Abuja.
New Capital Property Limited (NCPL), a subsidiary of the NNDC who handled the sales of the NNN properties, when accosted by the beneficiaries’ elders yesterday, revealed that every paper works had been completed by them on the payment but awaiting their mother company (NNDC) to direct further.
Consequent upon NNDC’s unexpected kill-joy foot dragging, the NNN beneficiaries, a number of whom have their BP raised and now critically ill, the company heading towards being guilty of complicity afterwards. As a benefit of doubt, the beneficiaries have given NNDC until closing hours on Friday, 23rd of May, 2025 to do the needful as the contrary may lead to the anatomy of the whole scenario being
