The Iranian government on Tuesday unveiled a massive banner and a towering billboard across Tehran, openly threatening to assassinate United States President Donald Trump. The installation brings the public hostilities between Tehran and Washington to a new level.
The towering billboard, situated at the bustling Enghelab Square, carries a message reading, “We will kill Trump.” It graphically depicts the US president behind bars with his head bowed.
A secondary billboard erected nearby displays President Trump alongside US Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The political figures are painted with bloodied faces and ragged suits, positioned against the background of worn-out United States and Israeli flags.
Nearby, an actor impersonating Trump spends the day inside a life-sized replica of a jail cell, positioned next to screens broadcasting the devastation from American military operations.
Dozens of protesters converged at the square to mark the unveiling, waving red flags and carrying banners with the inscription, “There will be blood.”
The demonstrators alleged that Trump deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure during the war, including a school and a wedding ceremony, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of women and children.
They also urged the Iranian leadership to maintain its commitment to avenging the slain supreme leader. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during US-Israeli joint operations on February 28, an incident that marked the start of the ongoing war.
While international monitors have urged calm, investigations into the regional security implications remain ongoing.
