The lawmaker representing Kogi Central, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has marked her third anniversary in the Senate by distributing laptop computers and other smart devices to secondary schools in her senatorial district.
The intervention is aimed at supporting digital learning and improving students’ access to educational resources.

The distribution took place on Monday, November 2, across selected schools, including OCSS Oboroke, Adavi Model Secondary School in Adavi Eba, and Community Secondary School in Obangede.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by her media aide, Mike Idoko, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the initiative is part of her commitment to quality representation and youth empowerment.
She urged the students to embrace digital literacy and called on school administrators to ensure the equipment is properly maintained.
“For me, the essence of representation is not simply to occupy an office or make speeches in the chambers of the National Assembly. It is about making a difference in the lives of the people who entrusted us with their mandate…These smart devices are not merely computers; they are instruments of opportunity, learning, innovation and empowerment. I want our children to understand that their geographical location should never limit their access to knowledge or their aspirations in life”, Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The lawmaker also advocated the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ihima to improve access to specialist medical services.
Speaking at Community Secondary School, Obangede, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Shehu Sule, commended the senator for her developmental interventions.
Dr. Sule praised Akpoti-Uduaghan’s contributions to education and human capital development, describing her as an inspiration to young people, particularly girls in Nigeria.
