President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, an Islamic spiritual pilgrimage to the Holy City of Makkah.

The President touched down at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Thursday night, hours after departing Abuja earlier in the afternoon.

Upon his arrival, he was formally received by the Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, alongside the Saudi Head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President will participate in the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its citizens.

“The event is an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion, and prayers for the nation’s peace, unity, stability, and continued progress“.

President Tinubu is expected to conclude his spiritual obligations and return to the country next week.
