Sokoto State confirms zero civilian casualties in joint Nigeria-U.S strike

The Sokoto State Government has officially confirmed that the recent airstrikes targeting ISIS terrorists in the state were a joint operation between the Nigerian military and the United States.

In a statement released on Friday, December 26, the government verified that the strikes successfully hit hotspots in Tangaza Local Government Area without any loss of civilian life. The full assessment of neutralized targets is still being processed by the Joint Operations command.

While the primary mission focused on degrading bandit and terrorist networks, the state also addressed the mystery regarding suspicious objects discovered near Jabo in Tambuwal LGA. The state government has urged residents of Tangaza and Tambuwal to remain calm while the suspicious objects near Jabo are analyzed.

‎The State welcomes collaboration with all relevant global stakeholders to curb the decade long menace of terrorism, plaguing the state.
