The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, is currently in Beijing, China, to finalize agreements for pioneering a $200 million Model Integrated Poultry Development Project, a deal to boost the food security and agro-industrial capacity of Nigeria.

The initiative in partnership with the Chinese Government, is expected to be a major economic catalyst for the North-West state, projecting the creation of 350,000 direct and indirect jobs and generating over $450 million annually once operational.

The Governor is accompanied by a Federal Government delegation, including the Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, Mr. Joseph Tegba.

Kaduna State was selected by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as the pilot location for this national program, which aligns with the focus of the president to accelerate food security.

The delegation will engage with top Chinese firms, notably the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), to consolidate investment commitments and technical collaboration.

The project is designed to strengthen food production systems, accelerate agro-industrialisation, and enhance export capabilities.

Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the Honourable Commissioner of Information, stated that the visit demonstrates the commitment of the Kaduna State government to strategic partnerships aimed at facilitating economic growth.

This poultry project will create thousands of jobs, strengthen food security, and position Kaduna as a continental leader in modern agribusiness – Maiyaki

‎The project is structured to cover the entire value chain, from cultivating maize and soybean for feedstock to the establishment of modern poultry farms and processing facilities.
