Engineer Ifeanyi Maduagwu, the father of Arise TV journalist Somtochukwu Maduagwu, who died during a violent home invasion in Abuja, has publicly disputed the initial claim that his daughter fell from a three-story building at her home in Katampe, Abuja, while trying to escape her attackers.
The father argued his daughter would never jump from a building due to her severe fear of heights. He stressed that his daughter was murdered instead, demanding an extensive police investigation.
I believe my daughter was killed… I want the police to investigate properly because the truth is still hidden
Dawn Herald reported previously that the journalist died on the night of September 29 after unidentified assailants reportedly attacked her residence in the Katampe area of Abuja. The initial narrative, widely circulated, suggested she die from injuries sustained in a fall as she attempted to flee the intruders.
The incident has drawn massive public attention, especially among colleagues in the media who are calling for clarity regarding the circumstances of her death.
The police are yet to publicly address the family’s murder claims, as at the time this report was published.
