Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, renowned global evangelist and spiritual leader of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, passed away, October 6, 2025, at the age of 80. Known for his unwavering commitment to spreading the Christian faith, Ukpai left a lasting impact as a man of faith and integrity.
Despite his demanding ministry schedule, Ukpai sought to maintain connection with his family whenever possible.
Ukpai’s ministry spanned decades, during which he travelled extensively across Nigeria and internationally to preach, often enduring warnings and challenges.
Dwight Uma, Ukpai’s son, described his father as deeply committed to God and a model of integrity;

Colleagues and fellow men of God, including Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, regarded Ukpai as a uniting force among Christian denominations.
His family remains focused on celebrating his life and discerning God’s guidance on the continuation of his legacy.
The Uma family appeals for prayers as they navigate the transition period. They emphasise faith in God’s plan for whoever is called to take up Ukpai’s mantle.
