The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved a 33 per cent increase in the annual financial subvention allocated to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and other member associations across the continent.
The upward review raises the yearly statutory grant from $525,000 to $700,000.
Announcing the development on Wednesday, CAF President Patrice Motsepe stated that the financial boost adds $175,000 for each national federation.
The executive committee also approved corresponding increments for regional football bodies, with zonal unions to receive $900,000, while the African Clubs Association will secure a $500,000 subvention.
The football governing body stated that its goal is to ensure that operations across its 54 member associations become entirely self-sustaining. Member nations are required to deploy the financial support into human capital development, women’s football, and youth sporting programmes.
