Rosy Meurer Shuts Down Domestic Abuse Rumours, Defends Husband

Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has broken her silence over allegations that her husband, businessman Olakunle Churchill, is physically abusive. Taking to Instagram, Meurer dismissed the claims as entirely false and emphasized the need to control her own narrative.

She expressed frustration over the rumors, stating that remaining silent only allows others to shape the story to suit their agenda. According to her, she felt compelled to speak out for the sake of her family and those who look up to her, even though she typically avoids addressing controversies.

“If you don’t tell your side of the story, they will tell it for you in ways that suit them for the world to believe. YOU MUST SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF!” she wrote. Meurer strongly denied the allegations, asserting that her husband is not capable of violence against women. “My husband never fit talk wetin dey him mouth finish, let alone beating a woman. Allegations no be by force, MY HUSBAND IS NOT A WOMAN BEATER!!” she declared.

The actress noted that while she prefers to let people form their own opinions, the seriousness of the allegation and its potential impact on her family made it impossible for her to stay quiet. She also lashed out at critics who, she claimed, wished domestic violence upon her marriage.

“It’s funny when haters wish beating in my marriage when it is obvious their mothers, daughters, and sisters will fall victims of massive beatings,” she added, expressing disbelief over the malicious nature of the gossip.

Olakunle Churchill also responded to the trending rumors with a sarcastic post, revealing that he and his family were currently enjoying a vacation in Disneyland Paris. Dismissing the allegations as baseless, he joked that those hoping for a split would be disappointed. “I hear say I dey trend, who cook am? My family dey Disney Paris dey enjoy summer life. Una go wait until menopause come,” he wrote.

Together, the couple has presented a united front, denouncing the abuse claims as false, harmful, and driven by idle speculation.
