Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has inaugurated a 3,000-member All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council. The committee is tasked with fostering grassroots mobilisation to secure victory for the party at all levels.
The inauguration took place on Thursday at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Yola. Governor Fintiri charged the council members to take proactive decisions and deliver victories across all polling units, wards, and local government areas.
He described the council’s composition as a broad representation of the state’s diversity and political experience.
The governor also warned members against anti-party activities, urging them to work collectively towards the party’s objectives.
Speaking at the event, the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Galadima, lauded the governor’s leadership approach. He pledged that, if elected, he would build on the achievements of the current administration.
Also addressing the gathering, the Co-Chairman of the campaign council, retired General Buba Marwa, urged stakeholders to maintain peace and mutual understanding. He emphasised that cooperation is essential for the success of all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Earlier, the Adamawa State APC Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Bello Madagali, described the large turnout as a demonstration of party unity. He appealed to stakeholders who were not included in the initial list to remain patient as preparations progressed.
In a related development, the APC National Vice Chairman for the North-East, Barrister Idris Shuaibu, formally received defectors from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Labour Party.
