Bandits kill two, abduct 32 in fresh raids in Kaduna State

Coordinated attacks across Southern Kaduna have left at least two people dead and 32 others abducted, including an elderly woman and several children. The incidents, which occurred between Saturday and Monday night, have struck multiple communities in the Sanga, Kajuru, and Kauru Local Government Areas.

The violence began in Arak village (Sanga LGA) on Saturday, where attackers killed two men. On Monday night, the same group returned to abduct an elderly, ailing woman, Mrs. Averik Arak and her granddaughter who were still mourning her son that was killed, just 48 hours prior.

‎Similar attacks were reported in Kajuru and Kauru LGAs, where 31 people, mostly minors, were forcefully taken into the forest. The 32 abducted victims, are children and minors taken from Unguwan Sarki Maro and Kadage villages.

According to reports from residents, over 100 residents from these areas have been held captive in the last five weeks alone. They expressed frustration over the media blackout regarding the reoccurring attacks in their community.

‎Despite the presence of major security formations across these regions, criminal groups continue to operate without any substantial resistance.
