The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, has raised the alarm over his exclusion from the final list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Adebutu and his running mate, Yemi Sowunmi-Kolapo, were conspicuously missing from the updated registry containing 13 governorship flagbearers for the 2027 elections.

However, the electoral body cleared all other PDP candidates vying for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and senatorial seats across Ogun State.

Reacting to the development, the PDP chieftain described the omission as highly questionable, claiming that his membership and digital registration were certified within the stipulated timeframe.

Adebutu stated that the primary election which produced him as the party’s flagbearer was transparently conducted with INEC officials in attendance as observers.

“My documentation was duly submitted to INEC within the prescribed time. I have not at any point left the PDP, and my commitment to our great party remains unwavering”.

He described the decision of INEC as a deliberate sabotage, recounting on previous attempts to frustrate his campaign activities, including restrictions on campaign billboards and harassment of party members.

He appealed to party loyalists and the public to remain calm, assuring them that his legal team is initiating the necessary steps to address the anomaly
