President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Minister of Defence and all Service Chiefs to track down the perpetrators of the Saturday market attack.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the attackers as monsters who have tested the nation’s resolve.
These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them, will face the full consequences – President Bola Tinubu
The Presidency stated that the suspects are terrorists fleeing into Niger State from Sokoto and Zamfara after the recent United States airstrikes on Christmas Eve.
Dawn Herald recently reported that the terrorists stormed Borgu Local Government Area, killed over 30 residents, looting goods worth millions of naira, before abducting unidentified numbers of women and children.
