Suspected terrorists launched an attack on Kasuwan Daji market in Niger State, killing at least 30 people and setting the market ablaze. Dawn Herald gathered that the bandits operated for over 12 hours, from Saturday afternoon till the early hours of Sunday.
The Niger State Police Command confirmed over 30 were killed, although some residents and survivors of the attack stated that the number of those tied and killed could exceed 50.

The market was completely destroyed after the bandits looted foodstuffs and valuables worth millions of naira.
An unspecified number of traders and residents were marched into the National Park forest. As at the time this report was published, joint security operatives are currently operating in the forest to rescue the abducted and to reunite them to their families.
