The United States President Donald Trump has announced the capture of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in an operation, to face drug-trafficking and weapons charges at New York City.

Trump stated that the United States oil firms will invest billions to fix Venezuela’s broken infrastructure.

We’re going to have our very large United States oil companies… go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure, and start making money for the country – President Donald Trump

Venezuela holds the world’s largest oil reserves, approximately 303 billion barrels, but production has declined to under 1 million barrels per day due to years of decay.

‎Trump characterized this as a step to stop drug terrorism, by overseeing the transition of power and to revitalize the crippled oil sector of Venezuela.

Trump emphasized that the total embargo on Venezuelan oil remains in full effect until a judicious transition is completed.

Meanwhile, China, Russia, and Brazil have condemned the attack as a violation of international law, warning that the operation sets a dangerous precedent to the world.
