The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested eight teenage girls and one young man during a night operation targeting street wandering in the Kano State. The suspects were apprehended for participating in an activity locally known as “good evening”, where young women loiter in strategic areas to be picked up by affluent individuals for social outings.
The Deputy Commander-General of the board, Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, confirmed that the raids were aimed towards sanitizing the moral atmosphere of the state as the year 2025 draws to a close.
According to Hisbah officials, the girls are allegedly patronized by wealthy individuals who convey them to various social spots, paying them between ₦5,000 and ₦30,000.
